Money Pit and it's diggers
The Oak Island Money Pit is why so many treasure hunters have went and gone from Oak Island. It has caused everything from death to happiness. No one knows what is exactly at the bottom . Some say it’s Captain Kidd’s Treasure, others say it’s the true identity of William Shakespeare, but whatever it is, why do so many fail, quit, and others come back?
The Money Pit was found in 1795 by a teenager named Daniel McGinnis. He failed to finish what he and his friends started and eventually quit. Eight years later a company by the name of “The Onslow Company” started where Daniel left off. They found a slab of stone that read “Forty feet below, 2,000,000 pounds are buried”. They kept digging and digging until they hit one of the flood tunnels. They decided to dig another hole and water found its way into the new hole. They accepted defeat and quit.
More and more treasure company’s came and left empty handed and with weightless pockets. They say that today it would cost over $2,000,000 to excavate the hole and fin the treasure. Too bad no one has the push to find one of the greatest mysteries in the world.
